Green Building Tutorial
Contents This section describes the theory behind green building.  Most of this is related to design, but some is about construction.  It is intended mainly for non-professionals who are interested in Green Building, although others may find it interesting also.

While the intention is that the information here is quite detailed, the level of detail is limited by the complexity of the topic.  Those seeking additional info should refer to the resources section as well as the references scattered in the text.  All the material contained here is a compilation of numerous books, periodicals and websites.

Because Green Building is to a degree climate specific, not all issues are applicable to all climates, and although an attempt was made to make this document as general as possible, it is biased toward a cold climate.

The author wishes to thank the members of the Northwest Ecobuilding Guild, for sharing their knowledge and experience.  Without them, this site would not be possible.
